Bhubaneswar: Through the joint efforts of property offence prevention and detection (POPD) and Team-60 of Bhubaneswar Urban Police District, a total of 142 property offenders have been arrested in the city during the month of October.
Out of them, 16 accused have been remanded to jail and a total of 18 habitual offenders have been booked under section 110 of CrPC.
In this case, 90 expensive mobile phones of different brands, 07 laptops and 03 batteries were seized, while gold jewellery weighing 553 grams and silver jewellery weighing 500 grams and a total of Rs 1,31,415 have also been recovered.
A total of 29 stolen vehicles including two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers have been seized during the investigation of the vehicle theft case.
Similarly, during the month of October, a total of four illegal drug dealing cases were registered in various police stations, eight accused were prosecuted and a total of 42 grams of brown sugar and drug proceeds of Rs 1700 were seized from them.
