Bhubaneswar: The polling for the bye-election to Dhamnagar assembly constituency in Odisha is being held today at 252 polling booths. A total of five candidates are in fray for the seat, whose fate will be decided by 2,38,417 voters.
Webcasting is being done in 50 percent of booths. 106 booths have been identified as sensitive booths. Besides webcasting, some micro-observers have been deployed at these booths.
Four companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), 10 platoons of Odisha Police, and 1108 polling personnel have been deployed for the bye-election. There is a ban on opinion polls and exit polls during the polling. Canvassing for votes etc. within a distance of one hundred meters of polling booth is prohibited.
