Bhubaneswar: Two women committed suicide on Thursday in the city. The first case was reported from Chintamaniswar under Laxmi Sagar police limits where one Snehalata Swain ended her life by hanging. The deceased, a native of Nayagarh was working at a private firm here.
Laxmisagar police retrieved the body and sent it for autopsy. A case has been registered in this matter.
Later in the day, a woman in Gandilo village under Balianta block resorted to the extreme step and ended her life. She was identified as Anupama Nayak. Balianta police has registered a case of unnatural death and investigating further.
