Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today apprehended one Dr Bibhu Prada Dhal, Veterinary Asst Surgeon of Sinapalli Veterinary Dispensary of Nuapada district for taking bribe.
Accused Dr Dhal was caught by Vigilance officials while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a person (complainant) for releasing two months’ hire charges of a vehicle engaged for official purposes in his favour. Vigilance officials recovered the entire bribe money from the accused Dr Dhal and seized it.
Following the trap, Vigilance officials have launched simultaneous searches at two locations of Dr Dhal for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
The anti-graft agency has registered a case against the accused Dr Dhal at Koraput Vigilance police station under section 7 of the PC Amendment Act, 2018. Further investigation, against Dr Dhal in the matter is underway.
