Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) has seized more than 2 kg brown sugar from an alleged drugs dealer near Khurda – Jatni bypass over bridge on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Rakesh Samantray alias Raka, a native of Andharua in Ranpur of Nayagarh district. The STF sleuths seized 2,020 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
A knife and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession.
“The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which he was arrested. He was booked under Sections 21(c) and 29 of NDPS Act 1985 and Section 307 of the IPC.
Raka was in judicial custody in connection with a murder case since 2018. Recently, he was released from the jail under conditional bail.
