Berhampur: The police have arrested one Abhishek Nahak (24) of Binayak Acharya College on charges of ragging and harassing a junior female student of the same college.
A video of this incident shot on a mobile camera was making rounds on social media following which the Badabazar police registered a case and arrested the main perpetrator.
Nahak, studying +3 final year (Arts) in the same college was initially detained at the police station for questioning. He is a resident of Shanti Nagar, in Haridakhandi.
“Prime accused Abhishek Nahak has been arrested. A criminal case is being registered. Earlier too, a case was filed against Nahak and he was arrested and forwarded to court. We will take strict action against him. We will recommend the anti-ragging committee of the college to rusticate him,” informed Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M.
