Balasore: “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage”. This quote by Lao Tzu is apt for the love birds Subhransu and Debasmita, who tied the nuptial knots to make their love eternal and everlasting. But this wedding was different.
The main attraction of the wedding was the wheelchair bound bride, and his groom helping her move around the marriage altar. Subhranshu kneeled down to exchange the ritualistic garlands with Debasmita, and happiness was clearly visible on the faces of the newly-wed couple.
This love affair started eight years back, during their college days at UN College in Soro. So deep was their affection towards each other that they decided to get married after getting consent from their parents.
But, fate had other plans. In 2019, Debasmita was struck with a paralytic attack which left her bound to wheelchair. Subhransu’s love for her remained undeterred.
He stood as a pillar of strength for her during her treatment. Despite several rounds of medical check-ups, things did not change and she was left to the mercy of the wheelchair.
Finally, in 2022 they decided to tie up the knot in the presence of their family members and relatives in a ceremony to eternalise their love.
