Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will be providing ‘Osteopathy’ treatment, a non-surgical, non-invasive stream of manual medicine in 10 PHCs/CHCs of the State on a pilot basis.
Osteopathy is a science of 150 years more prevalent in USA, Europe and Latin America. Sri Sri University is the first Institution in the country to impart education on the same.
Osteopathy treatment will be provided in CHC Berhampur, PHC Gurudijhatia, Bidyadharpur (Sandhapur) UPHC, UCHC CDA Bidanasi in Cuttack district; PHC (N) Pahal, PHC (N) Chandaka, UCHC Patia, and Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar in Khordha district; CHC Kirmira and UGPHC Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district for a period of six months as part of an internship programme for Osteopathy interns and faculty members of Sri Sri University, Cuttack. The Health & Family Welfare Department has written a letter in this regard to CDM&PHOs of Cuttack, Khordha and Jharsuguda by today.
In the letter, the CDM&PHOs have been requested to instruct the Medical Officer in-charge concerned to extend necessary support to the interns and faculty members of Sri Sri University Cuttack as per the existing infrastructure available in the allotted CHCs / PHCs for the smooth conduct of Osteopathy internship programme.
