Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra convened a meeting here on Wednesday to review the planning and preparedness of various agencies and departments for the visit of President Draupadi Murmu.
Special Secretary (Home), Dr Santosh Bala presented preliminary information regarding the President’s visit at the high level meeting today.
On the basis of information received from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Chief Secrtary advised Odisha Police, administration of Khurda and Puri districts to make all necessary arrangements as per protocol.
The meeting focussed on Guard of Honour, National Anthem, Barricading, Security, Health Care, Fire Services, Internet and Telecommunications, Industrial Equipment, Traffic Management, General Law Enforcement, and Media Permits during the President’s visit, stay and meetings.
Mahapatra advised on appointment of nodal officers for every department. “RTPCR test of anyone who is in the close vicinity of the President and/or communicates directly with her, is a must, he advised. Mahapatra also directed to ensure wearing of N-95 masks and undergo Covid tests prior to the visit of the First Citizen.
President Murmu will be in Odisha for two days on 10th and 11th of November. She will reach Bhubaneswar airport on November 10th in the morning and leave for Puri.
After offering prayer at Jagannath temple, she will offer floral tributes at the statue of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das near the Singhadwar of the Srimandir.
Murmu will then head to the Puri Raj Bhavan and return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon.
Later, the President will visit the Raj Bhavan and there is a proposal to hold a civic reception. After the program on the 10th, the President will rest at the Raj Bhavan.
On the second day of the visit (November 11), the President is likely to visit Tapoban High School, Unit-II Government Girls High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat tribal student hostel at Khandagiri.
Later, the President will inaugurate engineering books, engineering dictionary compiled by AICTE, at a function at Jaydev Bhavan. She will fly back to Delhi on November 11 afternoon.
Police DG Sunil Kumar Bansal, senior officials and District Collectors of Puri and Khurda participated in the meeting.
