Bhubaneswar: Kharabela Nagar Police on Wednesday arrested eight persons in connection with the attack on rationalists during an event at Lohia Academy in Bhubaneswar.
Reportedly on Tuesday, rationalists had organised a seminar and communal meal at Lohia Academy to bust the myth around eating of cooked food during the lunar eclipse.
During the event, some traditionalists arrived at the venue and protested. Subsequently, the protest turned violent and a clash erupted between the two groups.
The incident occurred in presence of police. Following the clash, eight persons were detained. They were arrested today.
