Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday gave an assurance to grant district status to Padampur sub-division by December 31, 2023, after meeting Padampur Action Committee members.
The committee members led by minister Niranjan Pujari were invited by the CM for a discussion following demand of district status to Padampur. The sub division is now a part of Bargarh district.
“The discussion with the Chief Minister was productive. Due to the model code of conduct there has been no announcement. But we have been assured that the agenda will be placed on BJD party manifesto,” a member of the action committee said.
