Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has arrested two persons on charges of gang raping a woman. According to reports, the survivor was gang raped by the accused who pretended to help her to provide accommodation.
The woman had come to Bhubaneswar on Tuesday for some work but could not return back and it was late int the night. The accused-duo approached her and assured her an accommodation in a safe place.
“However, they took her to a secluded place and allegedly raped her. One of the accused is reportedly from Chandanpur while the other is from Angul district,” IIC Kharvel Nagar Rajanikanta Mishra said.
“A case has been booked by Kharvel Nagar police on the basis of the woman’s complaint. Preliminary investigation was conducted following her complaing, and subsequently the arrests were made,” Mishra added.
