Bhubaneswar: All restrictions that were in force for running the Vidhan Sabha during the Covid-19 pandemic have been revoked, informed Odisha Assembly Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha.
Members will seat in their allotted seats as before the pandemic, Arukha added while briefing reporters after an all-party meeting here today.
The Speaker had called for an all-party meeting ahead of the winter session of the Assembly which is scheduled to commence on the 24th of this month.
Arukha said that the members of the Press who were earlier allowed to the Press Gallery before the onset of the pandemic will be allowed to do so.
Electronic media will be allowed to gather news during ‘Question Hour’ as they used to before the pandemic, he added.
The Speaker further informed that it was decided in today’s meeting that members who are sick can apply to participate in the proceedings of the House through videoconferencing.
