Bhubaneswar: The Housing & Urban Development Department continues to strengthen its Community Partners (Mission Shakti SHGs) for effective public service delivery across all wards in all ULBs.
Empowering the Jalasathis- Mission Shakti SHGs engaged for effective Water Supply Management in Urban Odisha continues at a scale.
The Capacity Building Programmes for all the Jalasathis was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, at Lok Seva Bhavan here on November 2, where 244 Jalasathis of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri were trained on effective ward level water supply management.
Further to scale up these programme, another Capacity Building programme was held today in Bhubaneswar. As many as 79 Jalasathis across three divisions – Angul, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, from 21 ULBs participated in the programme.
Addressing the participants Sarada Prasad Panda, Joint Secretary, H&UD and Director, SUDA reiterated that JALASATHI- Mission Shakti LED water Supply management is a transformative initiative under the 5T Governance Mantra.
Panda also stated the vision of the Odisha CM – “Decentralisation and Community Partnership are the two eyes of Odisha Model for Urban Governance”. He further stressed upon the effective role played by Jalasathi partners which is adding value in effective grievance redressal and revenue augmentation.
Highlighted the Journey of Jalasathis in urban Odisha under 5T Governance so far, focused on empowering and taking it to next level for better successful implementation of LED, safe drinking water supply etc.
RN Nayak, Engineer-in-Chief PHEO, Basant Senapati, Advisor PHEO also shared their line of appreciation to the Jalasathi Partners for timely and effectively driving the water supply management at ward level.
Technical Experts from SUJOG team and EZETAP also hand-holded the Jalasathis on operating MPOS machines and comprehended their knowledge in the technicalities involved.
The programme was followed by an Interactive session wherein State JALASATHI team moderated the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and appropriate answers to it.
Team Urban have prepared its Cluster Calendar to Cover all the JALASATHI programme and ULBs have geared up in organizing it told a Sr Officer of H&UD department.
