Bhubaneswar: The Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to weaken into a well marked low pressure area in the next 24 hours, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
The IMD stated that the Depression has moved northwestwards and lay centred at 0830 hours IST of today about 520 km northeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), 470 km eastnortheast of Karaikal, 550 km southeast of Machilipatnam and 420 km eastsoutheast of Chennai.
It is likely to move northwestwards till 21st November evening and then westnorthwestwards maintaining the intensity of Depression till mid¬night.
Thereafter, it would continue to move west¬northwestwards towards south Andhra PradeshNorth Tamilnadu Puducherry coasts and weaken gradually into a well marked low pressure area around 22nd November morning.
Under its influence, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Kandhamal today.
Similar weather condition is to prevail over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nawarangapur tomorrow.
